20 Grand Rue’ was
built circa 1840 as the 'Gendarmerie National', basically the local “Nick”. We
still have some of the original
jails, it was used
as the Gendarmerie until approx 1910 and then the house was used by the area Notaire.
Around 1955 it became
a private dwelling and
then became empty in the 1980's and left to the elements. There were several
changes of ownership with no
work being done until
we purchased the building in early 2004. Now just over four years
later we have finished the renovations
trying to keep to the
original layout as much as we could while introducing all the necessities
required by the weary traveller such
as en-suite facilities
and tea and coffee in all rooms. We are sure you will enjoy your stay.
